East Suffolk Cleansing are responsible for removing litter and fly-tipping, or dumped rubbish, from public land. Public land includes roads, pavements, adopted passageways, council-owned car parks, parks and recreation areas, lay-bys, and so forth. There is no charge for this service.

Officers will clear incidents of fly-tipping on public land as soon as possible, with the majority of incidents being removed within 24 hours of reporting.

"To ensure that household waste and recycling collections are prioritised, East Suffolk Council and East Suffolk Norse have taken the decision to temporarily suspend the bulky waste collection service...from Friday 22 January" Bulk waste is things like fridges, cookers, washing machines, TVs and the like. For full details follow the link below to the East Suffolk Council site. East Suffolk/Norse are trying to make sure our usual household bin collection service keeps operating, as they suffer from Corona-Virus absences and stretched resources.

There's a lot of symbols! The labels are useful, but it's a bit of a minefield. Local Government - in our case Suffolk County Council - do most of our recycling. They do it by 'kerbside collection' (bins),and through recycling centres. Many other things can be recycled (that's the labels) but to collect the greatest amount in the most efficient way - ONLY PUT IN THE BLUE BIN WHAT YOU KNOW CAN BE RECYCLED!

As a rule of thumbs..  

East Suffolk Council are asking us to be more careful with the way we use our recycle and waste bins.  

"Residents in east Suffolk have been urged to improve their "bin etiquette" after a rise in household waste during the coronavirus pandemic.
